Three years ago, we launched the Diversity VC Standard, the first DEI framework for venture capital, helping funds build inclusiveness into their policies. Since then, we’ve certified over 100 funds globally, representing $36B+ in AUM.

Our new toolkit on inclusive hiring and people development, developed in partnership with Google for Startups, builds on this success, offering clear, VC-specific guidance with good, better, and best practices. It also includes case studies to show how funds have implemented these changes.

We know there is no one-size-fits-all option for VCs, so these toolkits are intended to showcase those examples that we feel are most applicable across the board. They are also designed to be VC-specific, rather than broad recommendations for any industry. We offer more curated options for Diversity VC Members, who have access to the full Standard platform, research, and community support. Whether you’re just starting your DEI journey or looking to enhance existing practices, this toolkit is designed to support your growth and advance the industry toward greater inclusivity.

My experience at Google has shown me the power of diversity to enrich teams and drive innovation. Inclusion isn’t simply a matter of ethics or values; it delivers tangible business advantages. Research consistently demonstrates this, with studies showing that companies with greater gender diversity in leadership achieve a 25% increase in profitability vs benchmarks. This highlights the vital role diversity plays in building a successful and thriving business.

– Adriana Noreña, Vice President Spanish Latin America, Google

We deeply appreciate the help and support from these and other contributors in creating this new toolkit. It clearly shows the commitment of funds to make our sector more inclusive for all.
