Over the past decade, Diversity VC has worked towards a clear mission: to make venture capital more inclusive and reflective of the society we live in building dynamic teams, sparking bold ideas, and ultimately boosting returns.
What began at the margins of the industry is now moving into its core. Inclusion is no longer treated as a standalone initiative, but as a factor that shapes how funds are built, how decisions are made, and how performance is understood. This is reflected both in the growing role of institutional actors; from the British Business Bank’s commitment to increasing representation at the fund manager level, to UK Private Capital embedding inclusion within its research and programming, and in how the ecosystem itself understands this work. In a recent survey, over three-quarters of respondents said Diversity VC had contributed significantly or moderately to making the venture ecosystem more inclusive.
The strongest evidence of this shift can be seen where structured approaches have been adopted. Funds that engage with the Diversity VC Standard are not only participating in this work, they are progressing, and the data shows it
